About Bookshop by the Blackdowns

Our range of books is exciting and changes constantly. We work hard to balance new publications with classics and old favourites. We can't stock everything but if you are looking for a particular book and we do not have it in stock, we can usually get it by the following day. 

This is a shop for the community,  a space for book lovers to meet and share a mutual love of reading.

Someone asked us why we wanted to open a bookshop here. The answer was simple - we love reading and we feel constantly inspired by the beauty of the Blackdown Hills. Put those two things together and it was an obvious next step for us to create Bookshop by the Blackdowns.

 

We are a family of readers. We want our shop to be a hub for book-lovers, near and far, to meet, exchange ideas and make the world a better place. Yes, we really believe reading can do that!

 

Our book choices are curated with meticulous care and we aim to have something entertaining, thought-provoking and immersive for all types of reader.

So, if you live in our charming town or on our wonderful hills, pop in - we'd love to get to know you. If you're visiting the South-West, Wellington is a great place to stop-off with its eclectic blend of small independent shops and green spaces.
